On page 2, beginning on line 21, after "(4)" strike all material through "occurred." on line 25, and insert "A right to benefits under this chapter is available to any person who is a resident or nonresident of the state of Washington and who was a victim of a person against whom the state initiates proceedings under chapter 71.09 RCW."
EFFECT: Clarifies that victims of persons alleged to be sex predators will not lose the ability to apply for benefits from the crime victims' compensation fund for which they are currently eligible, whether or not the victim is a resident of the state of Washington.
