Background: The state government operates on a fiscal biennium that begins July 1 of each odd-numbered year. The 2009-11 operating budget, as amended by the 2010 supplemental budget (ESSB 6444, chapter 37, Laws of 2010), appropriated $31 billion from the State General Fund and two other accounts, together referred to as the State Near General Fund. The total budgeted amount, which includes state and federal funds, is $60.2 billion.

Summary of Bill: Appropriations are modified for the 2009-11 biennium. State Near General Fund appropriations are reduced by $490.4 million, while the total budgeted amount is reduced by $336.5 million. Technical adjustments are made to some appropriations to reflect vetoes of provisions in the 2010 supplemental budget (ESSB 6444).
