HB 2154 - DIGEST

Prohibits: (1) Work under state contracts from being performed at locations outside the United States; and

(2) All materials, supplies, and equipment purchased under chapter 43.19 RCW (department of general administration) from being produced in a location outside the United States;

unless the director of the office of financial management determines that the only practicable location where the services may be performed or the materials, supplies, and equipment may be produced is clearly and justifiably a location outside the United States.

Requires the director of the office of financial management to provide the house of representatives commerce and labor committee and the senate labor, commerce, and consumer protection committee, or their successor committees, with a list of contracts entered into in the previous fiscal year for which the director determined that the only practicable location where the services could be performed or the materials, supplies, and equipment could be produced was clearly and justifiably a location outside the United States.

Provides that the act does not apply to contracts entered into before July 1, 2010.
