SB 5459 - DIGEST

Declares an intent to account for a student's entire high school academic history by implementing an assessment system that evaluates a student's readiness to graduate based on multiple measures. This method recognizes all of the state's graduation requirements, considers the academic impact and benefit of each, and puts all in proper perspective.

Allows every student the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma by obtaining a set weighted graduation score, as established by the state board of education, in relation to his or her performance in the entire multiple measures high school assessment system, as calculated under section 2 (2) of the act.
