Requires carbon monoxide alarms to be installed inside all dwelling units that are built or manufactured in this state after December 31, 2009.

Provides that the installation and maintenance of a carbon monoxide alarm in a dwelling unit is the responsibility of the owner. However, if a tenancy exists, the maintenance of a carbon monoxide alarm in a dwelling unit, including the replacement of batteries when required for the proper operation of the carbon monoxide alarm, is the responsibility of the tenant, who shall maintain the alarm as specified by the manufacturer.
