Title: An act relating to the periodic replacement of license plates.

Brief Description: Eliminating the periodic replacement requirement for license plates.

Background: License plates must be kept clean and to be plainly seen and read at all times. Additionally, license plates must be replaced periodically to ensure maximum legibility and reflectivity. The Department of Licensing (DOL) must determine how frequently the plates must be replaced. DOL has selected a replacement period of seven years.

Summary of Bill: The requirement that DOL mandate a license plate replacement period is removed.
