HB 1769 - DIGEST

Establishes the Washington state English language empowerment act.

Finds that: (1) Thirty-one states have designated English as the official language; and

(2) Command of the English language is necessary to participate in and take full advantage of the opportunities afforded by American life.

Designates the English language as the official language of the state.

Requires all official business of the state to be conducted in English and all official documents, rules, orders, and publications to be printed in English.
