HB 2573 - DIGEST

Transfers powers, duties, and functions to the office of the attorney general as follows: (1) Programs, from the department of commerce, relating to sexual assault grants, prostitution prevention and intervention, financial fraud and identity theft crimes investigation and prosecution, and community mobilization against substance abuse;

(2) The crime victims' compensation program from the department of labor and industries;

(3) The address confidentiality program from the office of the secretary of state;

(4) Programs, from the Washington association of sheriffs and police chiefs, relating to registered sex offender and kidnapping offender address and residency verification grants, uniform crime reporting, missing persons web site, jail booking and reporting system, sex offender web site, sex offender records retention, and Washington auto theft prevention authority;

(5) The statewide drug prosecution assistance program from the criminal justice training commission; and

(6) The program for shelters for victims of domestic violence from the department of social and health services.

Requires the public employment relations commission to review the appropriateness of the transferred collective bargaining units.
