     AN ACT Relating to property assessments and the appeal of those assessments; and adding a new section to chapter 36.21 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1   A new section is added to chapter 36.21 RCW to read as follows:
     (1) Each assessment sent to a property owner for real estate tax purposes must be signed by the assessor who is accountable for the valuation amount and must include their contact information and the process for appealing the assessment valuation amount.
     (2) For appraisals with a value over five hundred thousand dollars, the appraisal must be signed by an accredited appraiser.
