On page 19, beginning on line 17, strike all material through line 18 and insert the following:

"(7) This section does not apply to ((sales)):

(a) The sale of pistols or semiautomatic rifles to licensed dealers for resale or to the sale of antique firearms; or

(b) The sale of semiautomatic rifles to females over the age of eighteen."

On page 25, line 25, strike "person" and insert "male"

On page 27, beginning on line 22, strike all material through line 24 and insert the following:

"(1)(a) A person under twenty-one years of age may not purchase a pistol pursuant to Title 18 U.S.C. Sec. 922(b)(1);

(b) A male under twenty-one years of age may not purchase a semiautomatic rifle pursuant to RCW 9.41.113."

EFFECT: Exempts females from the requirement to obtain a state background check in order to purchase a semiautomatic rifle and the prohibition against purchase for persons under age twenty-one.
