On page 2, after line 19 of the striking amendment, insert the following:

"(iii) Judgments founded on the tortious conduct of small businesses, as defined in RCW 19.85.020, or individuals acting in their representative capacity for a small business bear interest from the date of entry at the same rate as in (b)(i) of this subsection (3)."

EFFECT: Exempts small businesses, defined as businesses with fifty or fewer employees, from prejudgment interest by providing that tort judgments against small businesses or individuals acting in their representative capacity for a small business accrue interest from the date the judgment is entered.
