On page 1, line 5, after "Sec. 1." insert "The legislature recognizes that recent acts of violent extremism have shaken our communities and continue to create social tension across our great state. Acts of violent extremism, borne through the spread of propaganda, only seek to create fear and divide our citizens. The violence and destruction perpetrated by hateful groups, such as white supremacists and antifa, has no place in a civil society. Therefore, it is the intent of the legislature to create the domestic violent extremism commission to inform the legislature on practical, community-based solutions to address violence perpetrated by all violent political extremists.
