On page 1, line 28 of the striking amendment, after "section." insert "A county, city, or town must exempt from the tax authorized under this section any property owned by a person who relies on the income from one or more short-term rental properties to meet their basic needs."

EFFECT: Requires a county, city, or town to exempt any property owned by a person who relies on income from short-term rental properties to meet their basic needs from the short-term rental special excise tax.
