AN ACT Relating to official election materials; adding a new section to chapter 29.85 RCW; and prescribing penalties.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 29.85 RCW to read as follows:

          Official election materials produced at public expense shall not be altered and subsequently used in political campaigns as to favor an individual candidate or candidates or a ballot proposition.  Any person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
