AN ACT Relating to class HH licenses for hotels; adding a new section to chapter 66.24 RCW; and declaring an emergency.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 66.24 RCW to read as follows:

          The board may issue a class HH license to hotels holding class H licenses allowing retail sales of individual sized bottles of spirits, beer, or wine in guest rooms to registered guests.  A class HH licensee may also sell individual sized bottles of spirits, beer, or wine in its class H premises to registered guests for consumption in the guest rooms.  "Guest rooms" means rooms used for sleeping accommodations as used in RCW 66.04.010(13).  "Individual sized bottles" means bottles of spirits not to exceed three ounces in capacity or bottles of beer or wine not to exceed twelve ounces in capacity.  The fee for a class HH license is seventy-five dollars per annum.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.     This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, the support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
