AN ACT Relating to reporting of campaign contribution pledges; and adding a new section to chapter 42.17 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 42.17 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) A pledge otherwise required to be reported as a contribution that has not resulted in an actual receipt of the thing pledged within thirty days after the date receipt was promised to take place may be deemed an uncollectible pledge and may be removed from the financial accounts and public disclosure reports of the reporting entity.

          (2) A pledge is exempt from the aggregate amount reporting requirement until such time as the pledge is liquidated.
