AN ACT Relating to child support; and adding a new section to chapter 26.18 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 26.18 RCW to read as follows:

          If the mother or father of a dependent child is under eighteen years of age and unable to provide for the support of the child, the support of the child shall be the duty of the maternal or paternal grandparents, as the case may be, including any duty of support imposed by this title, Title 74 RCW, or any other statute or common law.  The duty of support imposed by this section may be enforced in any manner provided by law for the enforcement of child support.
