AN ACT Relating to health care professionals; and adding a new section to chapter 71.05 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 71.05 RCW to read as follows:

          The department shall waive postgraduate educational requirements applicable to mental health professionals under this chapter and chapter 71.34 RCW, for those persons who have a bachelor's degree and on the effective date of this act:

          (1) Are employed by an agency subject to licensure under chapter 71.24 RCW, the community mental health services act, in a capacity involving the treatment of mental illness; and

          (2) Have at least ten years' full-time experience in the treatment of mental illness.
