AN ACT Relating to marine employment relations; and creating a new section.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.     The senate and house of representatives commerce and labor committees, in consultation with the department of transportation, the marine employees' commission, the legislative transportation committee, the legislative budget committee, and other appropriate groups, shall meet jointly at convenient times as determined by the chairs of the commerce and labor committees to study and review the marine employees' collective bargaining act.  The department and the commission shall provide any information and assistance that may be reasonably requested by the committee chairs to enable the committees to carry out the purposes of this act.  The committees on commerce and labor shall jointly report their findings and recommendations to the legislature at the commencement of the 1987 regular legislative session.  The joint meetings of the committees under this act shall terminate following their report to the legislature.
