AN ACT Relating to drug pusher liability; and adding a new section to chapter 69.50 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 69.50 RCW to read as follows:

The parent of any minor to whom a controlled substance, as defined in RCW 69.50.101 is sold or transferred, shall have a cause of action for damages against the person who sold or transferred the controlled substance.  Damage recovery shall include:  (a) The cost of treatment or rehabilitation of the minor child's drug dependency, (b) pain and suffering caused to the parent, and (c) forfeiture to the parent of any profit accrued from the sale or transfer of a controlled substance.
