AN ACT Relating to economic development; and adding a new section to chapter 43.168 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 43.168 RCW to read as follows:

          The Washington state development loan fund is hereby specifically authorized to operate as a licensed small business investment corporation under the provisions of the Small Business Investment Act of 1958, Public Law 85-699, as amended from time to time, if it can qualify thereunder and if the committee shall determine that such operation would reasonably serve to carry out the purposes of the fund.
