AN ACT Relating to the protection of consumer-tenants; and adding a new section to chapter 59.18 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 59.18 RCW to read as follows:

          The commission by any person of one of the following acts or practices is an unfair act or practice or unfair method of competition in the conduct of trade or commerce for the purpose of application of the consumer protection act, chapter 19.86 RCW:

          (1) Abuse of a landlord's right of entry in violation of RCW 59.18.150;

          (2) Use of a rental agreement containing provisions prohibited under RCW 59.18.230;

          (3) Unlawful seizures of personal property in violation of RCW 59.18.230;

          (4) Reprisals or retaliatory actions in violation of RCW 59.18.240;

          (5) Failure to comply with provisions relating to moneys paid as deposit or security for performance by a tenant in violation of RCW 59.18.260, 59.18.270, and 59.18.280;

          (6) Removal or exclusion of the tenant from the premises in violation of RCW 59.18.290; and

          (7) Intentional termination of a tenant's utility service in violation of RCW 59.18.300.
