AN ACT Relating to excise taxation of returnable containers; adding a new section to chapter 82.04 RCW; and providing an effective date.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 82.04 RCW to read as follows:

          In computing tax due under this chapter, there may be deducted from the measure of tax amounts derived from sales of returnable containers for beverages and foods, including but not limited to soft drinks, milk, beer, and mixers.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     This act shall take effect July 1, 1986.
