AN ACT Relating to the state building code; creating a new section; and making an appropriation.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.     (1) The state building code advisory council shall conduct, by contract with a private entity, a study and analysis of the state building codes and related regulations of state and local agencies to ascertain the amount and nature of any conflict and inconsistencies.

          (2) Upon conclusion of the study, the state building code advisory council shall report the findings and proposed solutions to the department of commerce and economic development and to the legislature not later than September 1, 1986.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.     The sum of forty-nine thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 1987, from the general fund to the department of commerce and economic development for the purposes of this act.
