AN ACT Relating to state parks; and adding a new section to chapter 43.51 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 43.51 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) The commission shall grant a senior citizen's pass to any person who is sixty-two years of age or older upon application and the payment of a fee of fifty dollars.  The pass shall be valid for one year from the date of issue and shall entitle the person to free admission to and free use of any campsite in those state parks designated by the commission.  Determination by passholders of designated parks may be made by use of the commission's toll-free telephone number.  The pass exempts the person from water and sewer charges and entitles the person to a daily electrical hook-up charge of one dollar and fifty cents.  The pass is not valid for admission to concessionaire-operated facilities and applies to only one motor vehicle per campsite.

          (2) All fees collected under this section shall be deposited in the state general fund and shall be used exclusively for state park purposes.

          (3) The pass authorized in this section is in addition to any other pass or program otherwise authorized by law.
