AN ACT Relating to county roads; and adding new sections to chapter 47.26 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 47.26 RCW to read as follows:

          A county road service area formed under chapter 36.83 RCW is an eligible recipient for urban arterial trust account funds.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 47.26 RCW to read as follows:

          For the biennium beginning July 1, 1985, and ending June 30, 1987, five million dollars of unobligated funds from the urban arterial trust account shall be reserved for projects eligible under this section.  If the funds so reserved are not obligated by June 30, 1987, these funds shall be carried forward and be available for any new eligible projects.  To be eligible for funding under this section, projects within a county road service area shall meet the following criteria:

          (1) Projects shall meet all of the criteria under this chapter; and

          (2) A minimum of seventy-five percent of project costs shall be derived from local sources, including voter approved general obligation bonds; and

          (3) A minimum of fifty percent of project costs shall be derived from voter approved general obligation bonds issued pursuant to chapter 36.83 RCW.
