AN ACT Relating to official misconduct; and adding a new section to chapter 42.20 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  There is added to chapter 42.20 RCW a new section to read as follows:

          (1) A person who is an employee or official of the state or a political subdivision of the state who violates the person's oath of office or violates any duty owed to the person's employer shall forfeit the following benefits of the person's employment:

          (a) The employer's portion of retirement contributions;

          (b) Vacation and sick leave; and

          (c) Any other benefits accruing as a result of the person's employment seniority.

          (2) This section may be enforced by the attorney general or the county prosecuting attorney.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.     If any provision of this act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the act or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
