AN ACT Relating to public transportation authorities; and adding a new section to chapter 41.56 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 41.56 RCW to read as follows:

          In addition to the classes of employees listed in RCW 41.56.030(6), the provisions of RCW 41.56.430 through 41.56.490 shall also be applicable to municipal transit workers who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement and are employed by a public employer who receives funds under the Urban Mass Transit Act of 1964 as amended.  If there is a conflict between the binding arbitration procedures, if any, established in any agreement pursuant to the federal act and the binding arbitration procedures in RCW 41.56.430 through 41.56.490, the procedures in chapter 41.56 RCW shall prevail.
