AN ACT Relating to private carrier buses; and adding a new section to chapter 46.44 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 46.44 RCW to read as follows:

          It is a traffic infraction for the operator of a private carrier bus to carry or permit to ride a number of passengers on the bus greater than the number for which the bus was originally designed.  The original design capacity shall be shown on a plaque fastened to the interior of the bus by the manufacturer in the area near the driver's seat.
