AN ACT Relating to high-technology educational programs; and making an appropriation.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.     The sum of two million four hundred twenty-two thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 1987, from the general fund to the state board for community college education to continue its work establishing high-technology programs in community colleges.  The funds shall be allocated as follows:

          (1) To complete the advanced technology projects begun by chapter 72, Laws of 1983 1st ex. sess.!w×!tr$!sc ,14

          (2) To continue the development of a technology education center designed to evaluate, design, and deliver continuing education programs for business and industry in advanced

          (3) To develop and deliver a software technician program in accordance with industry request and standards!w×!tr$!sc ,14

          (4) To complete an engineering technology track that would link the resources of the consortium member colleges with a four-year institution to offer the bachelor of science in engineering technology (electronics, manufacturing, civil)!w×!tr$!sc ,14
