AN ACT Relating to liability settlements and jury trials; and adding a new section to chapter 5.64 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 5.64 RCW to read as follows:

          In any civil action for injury to person or property, if a settlement offer, including but not limited to a covenant not to execute or enforce a judgment, has been made by a defendant to the plaintiff, the offer shall be communicated to the court, and the jury, if any, may be informed of the offer.
