AN ACT Relating to compensation of teachers for in-service training; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.71 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.71 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) Certificated personnel shall receive one quarter credit on the salary schedule developed by the legislative evaluation and accountability program committee for each ten hours of approved in-service training attended.

          (2) Certificated personnel shall not be required to attend an in-service training program unless the program is approved.

          (3) An approved in-service training program is a program approved by an in-service training task force under RCW 28A.71.210.
