AN ACT Relating to school employee salaries; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.     Any school district having a LEAP document 7 derived base salary which is less than the average state-wide LEAP document 7 derived base salary of $16,673 may grant salary increases to certificated employees in the 1986-87 school year to achieve a derived base salary of $16,673.  The superintendent of public instruction shall provide to the LEAP committee the appropriate data with which to modify LEAP document 7 to reflect any increase made in accordance with this section for use in the 1987-88 school year.
