BACKGROUND:

 

The Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee advises the governor and the director of the Department of Veterans Affairs on all veterans affairs issues.  Ten of the fourteen members of the committee represent congressionally-chartered veterans organizations such as the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  The Vietnam Veterans of America, Incorporated (VVA) was chartered in 1986, and is not specifically included.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Membership on the State Veterans Advisory Committee is increased from 14 to 15 by adding a representative of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Incorporated.
