BACKGROUND:

 

Self-insured employers are required to maintain an administrative organization to manage their industrial insurance claims.  There is no requirement that the administrative organization be located within Washington state.

 

SUMMARY:

 

SUBSTITUTE BILL:  Administrative organizations that manage industrial insurance claims for self-insured employers must be maintained by the employer within Washington state.

 

SUBSTITUTE BILL COMPARED TO ORIGINAL:  The original bill required self-insured employers to maintain an administrative organization for managing industrial insurance claims within the employer's business.
