AN ACT Relating to property tax valuation appeals; and adding a new section to chapter 84.40 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 84.40 RCW to read as follows:

          The owner of any property or the person in whose name the property is assessed may petition the county board of equalization for reduction and equalization of the assessed valuation placed upon the property by the county assessor for the current year.  The petition shall be filed with the county board of equalization on or before July 15th or sixty days after the date an assessment or value change notice was mailed, whichever is later.
