AN ACT Relating to eligibility for medical assistance; and adding a new section to chapter 74.09 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 74.09 RCW to read as follows:

          The department shall determine eligibility for medical assistance within sixty days from the date of application for applications based on disability and within thirty days for all other categories of medical assistance:  PROVIDED, That if all information necessary to determine the eligibility of an applicant has been provided in accordance with the rules of the department but the application is not disposed of within the applicable time limits, the application shall be deemed approved as of the last day of such time limit and payment shall be made.
