AN ACT Relating to prohibiting the sale or use of tributyltin in paints; and adding a new section to chapter 70.54 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 70.54 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) No person may use tributyltin in paint or sell paint containing tributyltin after December 31, 1987.

          (2) The department of social and health services shall enforce this section and shall adopt any rules necessary to enforce this section.
