AN ACT Relating to use of public lands managed by the department of natural resources; and adding a new section to chapter 79.08 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 79.08 RCW to read as follows:

          The department of natural resources may permit use, without charge, of public lands under its control, other than lands held by the state in trust, by any agency of local government with jurisdiction to perform public safety duties on such public lands.  The department shall reduce any charge to such an agency for use of land held by the state in trust by the dollar value of public safety services benefiting such trust land that are provided by the agency.
