AN ACT Relating to county jails; and adding a new section to chapter 36.63 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.63 RCW to read as follows:

          If a person's term of confinement in a county jail is scheduled to be completed between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., the county jail may, in its discretion, release the person at 5:00 p.m.  This section does not apply to those persons required to serve confinement time in consecutive hours under RCW 46.61.515.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     If any provision of this act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the act or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
