AN ACT Relating to recreational angling for salmon; and adding a new section to chapter 75.08 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 75.08 RCW to read as follows:

Recreational angling for salmon by noncharter boat recreational fishermen fishing from boats of less than twenty-five feet in length is authorized in the state waters of the Pacific Ocean when recreational salmon seasons are open in adjacent waters under the jurisdiction of the Pacific fisheries management council.  The intent of this section is to allow an opportunity for small boat recreational fishermen to fish for salmon in inshore areas of the Pacific Ocean without a requirement to make inherently dangerous long trips to reach open fishing areas.
