AN ACT Relating to building permits; and amending RCW 36.21.050.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 36.21.050, chapter 4, Laws of 1963 and RCW 36.21.050 are each amended to read as follows:

          The county commissioners of every county shall provide for the issuance of a building permit for the construction or alteration of any building within the county, for which the value of the material exceeds one thousand five hundred dollars except that where any city within the county issues such permits for all buildings within its jurisdiction, it shall not be necessary for the county to issue building permits for the construction or alteration of buildings within any such city.  Every application for a building permit as required herein shall contain a legal description of the property upon which the building is to be constructed or altered.
