AN ACT Relating to light and power bills; and adding a new section to chapter 82.16 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 82.16 RCW to read as follows:

          When any light and power business or gas distribution business operating in the state bills its customers for products or services rendered, the bill shall clearly indicate all rates and amounts of taxes paid directly by the customer.  The bill shall also clearly indicate the rate, origin and approximate amount of each tax which is levied upon the light and power business or gas distribution business and added as a component of the amount charged to the customer.
