AN ACT Relating to highway maintenance; and adding a new section to chapter 47.28 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 47.28 RCW to read as follows:

          The department shall not use, or permit the use of, salt in any form or any material containing salt for removal of snow or ice on any state highway.  The Washington state department of transportation shall be allowed to use salt products that contain a corrosive inhibitor for experimental and research purposes.
