AN ACT Relating to residential solid fuel burning devices; and amending RCW 70.94.477.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

        Sec. 1.  Section 9, chapter 405, Laws of 1987 and RCW 70.94.477 are each amended to read as follows:

          ((Unless allowed by rule, under chapter 34.04 RCW,)) A person ((shall not)) may cause or allow any of the following materials to be burned in any residential solid fuel burning device  only if the burning does not violate the emission performance standards or opacity levels provided under RCW 70.94.457 and 70.94.470:

          (1) Garbage;

          (2) Treated wood;

          (3) Plastics;

          (4) Rubber products;

          (5) Animals;

          (6) Asphaltic products;

          (7) Waste petroleum products;

          (8) Paints; or

          (9) Any substance, other than properly seasoned fuel wood, which normally emits dense smoke or obnoxious odors.
