AN ACT Relating to liability insurance for child care service providers; and adding a new section to chapter 48.18 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.     A new section is added to chapter 48.18 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) Any insurer offering child care insurance shall accept payment of the premium for the insurance in at least quarterly installments, at the option of the insured.  The insurer may charge a reasonable, flat fee for accepting installment payments based on the additional administrative costs involved.

          (2) An insurer offering child care insurance shall notify child care providers of the payment option required under subsection (1) of this section upon application for and renewal of any policy of child care insurance.

          (3) As used in this section, "child care insurance" means "day care insurance" as defined in RCW 48.88.020.
