BACKGROUND:

Employees of the state four-year institutions of higher education and the community colleges may attend classes at the institution where they are employed, on a space available basis, without paying tuition and fees. Employees are charged a registration fee of at least $5.00.

These students do not count in official enrollment reports, and the state does not reimburse the institutions for their attendance.  No new course sections can be created as a result of the waivers.  In addition, institutions must adopt guidelines for the implementation of the waivers.
