BACKGROUND:

 

Disabled persons who are not able to walk desire to be allowed to hunt animals from a nonmoving motor vehicle that has its motor turned off which is not parked on or beside a public road.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Persons who are not able to walk without the assistance of a wheelchair, crutches or similar devices may hunt animals from motor vehicles if they possess a permit from the Wildlife Director.  The vehicle must be nonmoving, the engine must be turned off, and the vehicle must not be on or beside the maintained portion of a public road.  The person of disability may be accompanied by one nondisabled licensed hunter, who may assist in killing game wounded by the disabled hunter and may tag and retrieve game killed by the disabled hunter.
