BACKGROUND:

 

The Department of Licensing administers many special license plate programs.

 

Pearl Harbor survivors are eligible to receive plates if they are a survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and meet other criteria.

 

Pearl Harbor survivors pay all regular vehicle license fees and taxes.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Department of Licensing is authorized to issue plates or continue the issuance of plates to the surviving spouse of a former Pearl Harbor survivor, if the spouse was married to a Pearl Harbor survivor at the time of death.
