BACKGROUND:

 

Commercial bottom trawling for food fish and shellfish can disturb the bottom of the water and negatively affect commercial and recreational fishing opportunities.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Commercial bottom trawling for food fish and shellfish is unlawful in all areas of the Hood Canal south of the mouth of the canal, in the central Puget Sound east of Whidbey Island and Camano Island, and in all Sound areas south of a line drawn from Foulweather Bluff to Double Bluff.
